Key Responsibilities:
Operational Support:
Assist the Rig Manager in overseeing rig operations, ensuring adherence to safety, operational, and environmental standards.
Actively monitor daily drilling activities, equipment performance, and personnel efficiency.
Ensure proper coordination of rig activities to meet project timelines and objectives.
Leadership & Team Management:
Develop leadership skills by directly managing rig crew activities in the absence of the Rig Manager.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior rig personnel to foster a culture of excellence and safety.
Promote teamwork and effective communication among all rig personnel.
Project Monitoring & Execution:
Support the planning, coordination, and monitoring of drilling projects to ensure cost-effective and timely completion.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report progress to the Rig Manager and other stakeholders.
Liaise with relevant departments to ensure seamless execution of rig operations.
Maintenance & Safety Compliance:
Ensure the implementation and monitoring of the rig maintenance plan to maximize equipment uptime and longevity.
Conduct routine inspections of rig equipment and facilities to maintain compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Promote and enforce a culture of safety by adhering to HSE protocols and conducting regular safety drills.
IT & Data Competence:
Utilize IT tools and systems to enhance operational efficiency, including real-time monitoring and reporting software.
Support data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation to optimize drilling operations and maintenance planning.
Leverage digital solutions for project tracking, asset management, and performance reporting.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process optimization and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative technologies and methodologies.
Participate in training and development programs to stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
Qualifications & Competencies:
Educational & Professional Requirements:
Minimum entry level: Assistant Driller with relevant certifications.
A degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, or related Engineering disciplines is an advantage.
IWCF certification or equivalent is required.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of drilling operations and rig equipment functionality.
Competence in IT, including familiarity with drilling software, Plant Maintenance Management System and data analysis tools.
Knowledge of maintenance planning and execution for rig equipment.
Leadership & Communication:
Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a high-pressure environment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Analytical & Project Management Skills:
Ability to monitor, interpret, and act on data to improve operations.
Experience in project planning, monitoring, and reporting.
Strong focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Work Environment:
Onshore drilling operations.
Rotational schedule with extended periods at the rig site.
