Sevan Construction Nigeria Limited was established in 1981 with Registration No. RC 37125 as a limited liability company specialized in all kinds of “PEB”: Pre-Engineered Buildings. Located in Lagos, Nigeria. Working from certified designs in the manufacturing and erection of steel structures, we can construct a wide variety of buildings such as: warehouses, airport hangers, factories, churches, commercial and residential spaces with Structural Steel fabrication design & erection to the civil construction and in the Oil & Gas Industries, development and manufacturing of various semi-trailers, rigid truck bodies, which enabled the company to deliver complete projects of steel structures coupled with civil engineering. Our factory is run by a team of specialized professional staff and can churn out 250tons of steel products a month. A qualified technical and professional team is available to assist when queries arise in the factory or for follow-up on site.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Site Safety Officer

Location: Banana Island, Ikoyi – Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor work processes and procedures to identify unsafe practices or breach of safety regulations at the site.
Facilitate and schedule repairs of unsafe or damaged equipment.
Organize Pep talk/trainings to educate company staff and contractors on necessary safety principles.
Liaise with the Production Manager & Project manager of the company to determine operations.
Carries out job hazard analysis before the start of a project.
Prepares and issues a JSA/JHA and work permits.
In-charge of incident/accident investigations and reporting.
Responsible for maintaining a hazard free environment.
Develop and implement safety, procedures, and policies for production operations.
Oversee the placement and setup of safety signs to warn of potential hazard.
Prepare and present to company management periodic report of safety operations.
Collaborate with law enforcement agents and investigators to address cases of workplace accident.
Proffer solutions on safety topics such as proper waste disposal, fire regulations, and noise pollution.
Conduct risk assessments to identify work areas with high risk of operational hazard
Oversee company waste disposal methods to ensure they comply with safe disposal procedures.
Review company operational processes to ensure they are in line with external safety legislations.

Requirements / Skills

Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree qualification with 3 – 5 years’ work experience.
Good communication (sending daily situations reports via WhatsApp’s) and maintaining a good interpersonal relationship with all those working with the company.
Vast knowledge of safety procedures in the Construction and fabrication industry.
Sound human relation and planning processes
Relevant Engineering or Manufacturing health, safety and environment experience.
Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis experience
Good understanding/experience of safety procedural standards.
Computer literacy. Drive and Initiative.

Salary
N100,000 – N150,000 / Month.
