Community Health Justice and Peace Initiative for Development seeks the services of a qualified person who will work as the Protection Officer.

The Protection Officer will oversee the activities of the Protection Unit. He/she will be required to travel to communities in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states throughout the duration of the project.

Contract Duration:   2 years

Location: Borno, Adamawa and Yobe

Responsibilities 

Provide capacity-building and training to staff and beneficiaries on thematic areas of protection (including GBV, protection mainstreaming, and confidentiality of protection data)
Ensure quality services respecting “Do no harm” and confidentiality principles are provided on the field
Participate in community events and meetings and lead the organization of awareness sessions and workshops
Ensure the identification, internal/external referrals for case management.
Develop relevant key messages and IEC materials and ensure that they are disseminated among the communities
Communicate relevant and meaningful information regarding the rights of persons of concern and services available in the area to enhance access to services and rights
Responsible for all community outreach interventions and activities and follow up on the work plan together with the Programme Coordinator.

Required Qualifications

A Degree in social science/development studies/political science or related field.

Experience

A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the same working in an NGO setting
