Job Title: Head of Business Unit

Location: Sagamu, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Managing Director/CEO

Job Summary

The Head of Business Unit is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, strategy, and profitability of the truck leasing business.
This role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and industry expertise to drive growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and ensure operational efficiency.
The incumbent will lead a team, manage key relationships, and develop strategies to achieve business objectives.
This role is critical in driving the success of the truck leasing business, ensuring sustained growth, efficiency, and a strong market position.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Business Development:

Develop and execute business strategies to achieve growth and profitability targets.
Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and market trends to enhance revenue streams.
Start-up the company’s truck leasing portfolio by attracting new clients and retaining them.

Operational Management:

Oversee the efficient management of the fleet, ensuring optimal utilization and maintenance.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Financial Management:

Develop and manage the business unit’s budget, ensuring cost control and revenue maximization.
Monitor financial performance, analyze key metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Ensure timely invoicing, collections, and financial reporting.

Customer & Stakeholder Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly to enhance satisfaction and retention.
Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favourable terms for the business.

Team Leadership & Development:

Lead, mentor, and motivate the business unit team to achieve performance goals.
Ensure staff training and development to enhance skill sets and improve productivity.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Risk Management & Compliance:

Identify and mitigate operational, financial, and legal risks associated with the business.
Ensure adherence to safety standards, environmental regulations, and compliance frameworks.
Implement effective risk management strategies to safeguard company assets.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Revenue and profitability growth.
Fleet utilization and operational efficiency.
Customer satisfaction and retention rates.
Cost control and budget adherence.
Employee performance and team engagement.
Compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field. MBA is an added advantage.
7 – 10 years of hands-on experience in the leasing, logistics, or transportation industry, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role.
Strong understanding of fleet management, leasing operations, and financial performance indicators.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in business management software and ERP systems.
Ability to work under pressure and make data-driven decisions.

Salary
N300,000 – N400,000 Monthly.
