Karbak Ventures Limited (ISO NG19/90729) is an Engineering, Procurement and Construction Company, with approximately two decades of experience in Electro-Mechanical Projects for FMCG companies in West and East Africa. We have vast experience with plant/equipment installation of numerous sizes and complexity and we pride ourselves in the vast capacity built over the years in providing design, procurement and installation support to numerous FMCG firms such as Coca-Cola, Nigeria Breweries, Guinness, Friesland, PZ Wilmar, Murzah Wilmar (Tanzania), Kasapreko (Ghana), etc. and supports for OEMS such Sidel, KHS, Krones, Pentair, etc.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Design and Commercial Engineer (Experienced)

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
Technical Design and Engineering:

Develop detailed technical designs and specifications for complex engineering projects
Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create accurate project drawings
Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure design feasibility
Incorporate innovative solutions to optimize project performance and efficiency.

Commercial Aspects:

Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and budgets for proposed designs
Conduct value engineering to balance cost-effectiveness with technical requirements
Assist in developing project proposals and tender documents
Participate in contract negotiations, providing technical expertise to support commercial decisions.

Procurement Support:

Collaborate with procurement teams to identify and select appropriate materials, equipment, and vendors
Develop technical specifications for procurement packages
Evaluate supplier proposals and provide recommendations based on technical and commercial factors.

Project Execution Support:

Provide technical guidance and support during the construction and commissioning phases
Coordinate with construction teams to resolve on-site technical issues
Manage design changes and assess their impact on project schedule and budget.

Risk Management:

Identify potential technical and commercial risks in project designs
Develop mitigation strategies to address identified risks
Collaborate with project managers to integrate risk management into overall project planning.

Interdisciplinary Coordination:

Work closely with other engineering disciplines (e.g., structural, electrical, mechanical) to ensure design integration
Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and schedulers to align design activities with project timelines and budgets.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree / HND qualification in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
2 – 4years experience.
High Analytical, creative and cognitive ability.
Good handle of CAD & CAE software (AutoCAD 3D,AutoCAD Advance Steel,AME Tank,SolidWorks,PipeFlow,Prota, ANSYS, Aspen HYSYS)
Good handle of Microsoft Excel,Word.Powerpoint and Micrososoft Project
Good communication skill.

Salary
N120,000 – N150,000 monthly.
