We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Pattern Maker to work part time with our creative team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of garment construction, exceptional technical skills, and the ability to translate design concepts into accurate digital patterns . This role is critical in ensuring that our collections are brought to life with precision, quality, and consistency. Must be based in Abuja
Key Responsibilities:
Pattern Creation:
Develop accurate patterns based on designers’ sketches and technical specifications.
Create initial patterns for new styles and adjust as necessary during the design process.
Sample Development:
Collaborate with designers and sample makers to produce prototypes that meet design expectations.
Review and modify patterns based on fit and aesthetic feedback.
Fit Adjustments:
Conduct fittings to ensure proper garment fit and proportions.
Make precise adjustments to patterns based on feedback from design and production teams.
Technical Documentation:
Create digital pattern markers and specifications for production.
Maintain organized records of all patterns and revisions for reference.
Collaboration:
Work closely with designers, fabric specialists, and production teams to ensure patterns are production-ready.
Provide input on fabric suitability and garment construction techniques.
Production Support:
Ensure patterns are compatible with bulk production requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Degree or certification in Pattern Making, Fashion Design, or a related field.
3+ years of experience as a Pattern Maker in the fashion industry.
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and sewing techniques.
Proficiency in digital pattern-making software, as well as manual drafting skills.
Excellent understanding of fit, proportions, and draping techniques.
Ability to interpret design sketches and translate them into precise patterns.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with premium or luxury fashion brands.
Knowledge of sustainable or innovative fabric options.
Expertise in pattern grading for different sizes.
Familiarity with CAD software and 3D garment simulation tools.
