Activity Coordinator

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team of professionals and medical staff that includes doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and Home Care Assistants, providing care to aged adults in a Residential Setting· 
  • Plan and organize a variety of activities that promote physical, cognitive, and social well-being
  • Lead group activities such as exercise classes, arts and crafts, games, and social events
  • Individualize activities to meet the specific needs and abilities of residents
  • Provide continuous on-site physiotherapy to meet the needs of clients.
  • Document resident participation and progress in activities
  • Responds promptly to a patron’s change in function or condition.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, including the caregiving team and medical team
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating environment for residents
  • Stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in elder care and activity programming
  • Willing and motivated to work extra hours in unusual periods of increased work demands and may be assigned other tasks as management decides

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as an Occupational Therapist in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience in working with older adults in an assisted living or long-term care setting
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to plan and facilitate engaging activities
  • Knowledge of caregiving techniques and practices is an added advantage
  • Ability to assess conditions and work with treatment plans
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • A compassionate, caring, and patient nature.
  • Pleasant personality, team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks and intense pressure to perform.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in both written and spoken information.
  • Knowledge of more than one major Nigerian language will be an added advantage.
  • A flexible and highly adaptable approach to work.
  • Superior patient/customer service, ethics, and bedside manners.
  • Able to write and submit reports as and when due.

Remuneration: NGN 150, 000 – 200,000
