Havigo Consulting Limited – Our client, The Young Stores (TYS), is a leading distributor of pharmaceutical products for many brands and manufacturers in Nigeria and abroad. With the head office located in Ibadan, The Young Stores seeks to be a one stop shop where anything medical and pharmaceutical can be sourced in wholesale quantities and at affordable prices. TYS operates large warehouses and a chain of sales point to serve our teeming customer base from across Nigeria.
They are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Supply Chain and Logistics Manager
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy
Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams
Determine key logistics/supply chain KPIs
Suggest solutions for process improvements
Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions in a timely manner
Train and evaluate others in the logistics side of business
Provide constructive feedback
Work closely with finance and sales team to achieve overall business goals
Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers and customers
Managing and ensuring the accuracy of products stored in warehouses, and inventories.
Facilitating the establishment of commercial connections between customers and suppliers.
Discussions and negotiations with goods carriers about shipment costs.
Establishing and managing incoming and outbound shipping schedules.
Managing the flow of resources and goods throughout our organization
Collaborating with different divisions within the business to enhance logistics.
Supervising the process of importing and exporting a product.
Coordination of shipment/waybill schedules and storage of goods and commodities.
Developing procedures and systems for scheduling and tracking procurement and distribution operations.
Liaison with customers, suppliers, and employees to ensure inventory is properly documented and ordered, as well as to guarantee delivery schedules are adhered to.
Negotiating contracts with suppliers and customers
Planning and implementing logistical strategy, ensuring targets are met
Overseeing product storage, handling, and distribution
Using computer software to track goods from origin to delivery
Working on forecasts and inventories, keeping an accurate record of the process and analyzing performance
Managing and motivating a team of supply chain staff
Improving the overall supply chain performance and looking for any possible innovations to the process
Implementing new technologies and staying alert to new trends in the sector.
Qualifications
Minimum of B.A. in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or similar/relevant fields
Minimum of five (5) years work experience as a Supply Chain/Logistics/Procurement Manager
Hands-on experience with supply chain management software (such as SAP MM, AP Modules, SAP Plant Maintenance, etc.)
Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Team player
Good time-management skills
Great interpersonal skills
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational abilities
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
