Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Analyze current farm operations, crops, livestock, staff, and financial records to suggest improvements.
- Develop and implement planting and harvesting schedules, ensuring clear communication of expectations to staff.
- Conduct regular inspections of crops and livestock, and perform soil and water tests.
- Manage inventory, including seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other necessary supplies.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery.
- Handle the marketing and sale of farm products such as fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat, and grains.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in recruiting and training new staff members.
- Work with senior management to prepare budgets and financial reports.
- Build and maintain professional networks and stay informed about agricultural advancements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, plant health, or a related field.
- Additional coursework in business management or administration is advantageous.
- Extensive experience in farming, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong passion for agriculture.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in a medium to large farm setting.
Remuneration: NGN 200,000 – 250,000 (Negotiable)
