Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of goods and services related to shipping and logistics.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure the best possible prices and terms.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
- Monitor and analyze market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, and track the status of orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial targets.
- Implement cost-saving measures and strategies without compromising on quality.
- Conduct regular reviews of procurement processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Draft, review, and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
- Monitor contract performance and address any issues or discrepancies as they arise.
- Collaborate with inventory management teams to ensure optimal stock levels and timely replenishment.
- Coordinate with logistics and shipping teams to align procurement activities with operational needs.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, including spend analysis, supplier performance, and market trends.
- Address and resolve any procurement-related issues, including supplier disputes and logistical challenges.
- Implement solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the shipping and logistics industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of shipping and logistics operations and regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
