Legal and Compliance Officer

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee legal and compliance matters related to property.
  • Handle litigation, tenancy issues, property management, and compliance.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that all property-related activities comply with relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures to maintain adherence to legal standards.
  • Guide legal aspects of tenant relations and lease negotiations.
  • Advise on legal risks and best practices for property management.
  • Prepare and review documentation and reports related to property compliance and legal matters.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential legal and compliance issues.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate legal and compliance risks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of legal and compliance activities.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements.

 


Requirements:

  • A minimum of an LLB in Law.
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in property law and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of litigation and tenancy issues.
  • Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to property and tenancy.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply legal and regulatory requirements effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex legal and compliance issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey legal concepts and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in negotiating and drafting legal documents and agreements.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in managing and maintaining accurate legal and compliance documentation.
  • Commitment to upholding legal and regulatory compliance with professionalism and diligence.
  • Experience in providing guidance and training to staff on legal and compliance matters.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and legal counsel.
