Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Cut, trim, and prepare meat products for display and sale
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge, including different cuts, types, and cooking methods
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and making recommendations
  • Operate and maintain butchery department equipment, including slicers and grinders
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to company and food safety standards
  • Collaborate with other department staff to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive shopping environment
  • Receive and process meat shipments, including rotation and stocking


Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a butcher or in a related field
  • Strong knowledge of meat cuts, types, and preparation methods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with inventory management
  • OND or equivalent required; certification in meat cutting or a related field preferred
