Job Title: Vice Principal (Academic)

Location: Akure, Ondo
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership in academic planning, curriculum development, and instructional strategies to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate academic performance, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across all grade levels.
  • Collaborate with faculty to implement effective pedagogical practices and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Lead professional development initiatives to equip teachers with the skills needed for innovative and effective instruction.
  • Foster a collaborative learning environment by coordinating academic activities, assessments, and extracurricular programs.
  • Support the Principal in executing the school’s academic vision and strategic goals.
  • Proven track record with IGCSE is an advantage

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an educational setting, with at least 2 years in a leadership or academic role.
  • Proven experience as a Vice Principal or in a similar academic leadership position.
  • Extensive experience in a senior academic leadership role within an international or British school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the British curriculum and its application in the Nigerian educational context.
  • Demonstrated success in driving academic achievement and school improvement initiatives.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and academically rigorous learning environment.
  • Fluency in English and experience working in a multicultural school setting.
  • Deep knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Experience in leading professional development for teachers to enhance instructional practices.
