Project Finance Officer-Climate Finance

Job Details
- Develop and execute project plans aimed at financing climate-related activities and climate-resilient infrastructure;
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, development partners, private sector entities, and other domestic and global stakeholders, to mobilize support and resources for water resources and climate impact initiatives;
- Coordinate the investment activities of the Lagos Water Partnership (LWP) while following up with members of the Partnership on the investment portfolio towards water resources development and management in Lagos.
- Identify funding sources for climate-related initiatives including public and private sources.
- Develop project proposals that attract climate funding for water resources and climate impact projects.
- Coordinate and prepare investment proposals for identified projects by the LWP and outside the LWP framework.
- Develop comprehensive project investment plans, including objectives, timelines, budget allocations, and resource requirements.
Requirements;
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s or advanced degree preferred in a field related to Accounting, Project Finanace, Green Finance, Climate Finnace or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project financing, accounting, economics, business management or finanace related background.
- Strong understanding of climate change issues, climate finance mechanisms, and sustainable development goals.
- Experience in financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation for climate-related initiatives.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Knowledge of environmental and social safeguards, compliance standards, and reporting requirements for climate finance projects.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
