We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests on biological specimens.
  • Coordinate and delegate daily laboratory activities.
  • Spool pending tests daily and action pending reports conclusively.
  • Act as a focal person for the laboratory.
  • Assist BOM on matters relating to kits validation.
  • Ensure daily QC is done & reviewed by all.
  • Interpret test results and prepare reports for physicians.
  • Communicate to the in-house biomedical engineers on equipment downtime both orally and by email with the BOM and ROM in a copy of the email.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Assist the BOM during stock count and ensure proper consumption documentation is done by team members.
  • Advice the BOM on stock matters as regards fast depletions, overstocking, and near expiration date items
  • Follow strict safety procedures.
  • Communicate critical results to clients through the customer service team by email.
  • Proper communication/handing over of unfinished tasks to the next shift through email/and lab note
  • Proper communication of technical issues to the BOM and ROM.
  • Be involved with departmental validation, verification, and all levels of the quality assurance program of the lab.
  • Communicate delayed TAT to clients by email through the customer service team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or a related field
  • 4-5 years experience in a similar role with a chemistry specialization.
  • Registered Medical Technologist (RMT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) certificate.
