Job Title: Junior Accountant
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Department: Finance/Account Department
Report to: Head of Department, Finance.
Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will assist with the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
- You will work closely with senior accountants to manage accounts payable and receivable, prepare financial reports, and support the month-end and year-end close processes.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Inventory/Stock management control across all brands of clienteles.
- Daily Posting of Sales and Expenses transactions.
- Vendor account management & reconciliation.
- Reporting of financial transactions as requested by management.
- Updating and filing cash and transfer payment Vouchers with supporting documents.
- Maintain Fixed asset register and asset valuation.
- Maintain and organize the physical filing of source documents.
- Preparation of the Monthly Payroll and Sales report
- Preparation and filing of statutory payments and taxes.
- Monitor office expenses, imprest and reconciliation.
- Preparing bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
- Coordinate monthly Stock counting, and reconciliation.
- Bank statement reconciliation.
- Other tasks as assigned by the management.
Qualification and Experience
- Candidates should possess an HND / B.Sc. in Finance/Accounting or other related fields
- Possess 2 – 3 years of experience working as an Accountant or similar role
- Retail experience is an added advantage.
- Preference will be given to candidates residing in or close to the Island.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of proper bookkeeping and office filing management.
- Ability to work with accounting software or ERP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Competencies in data entry, analysis, and management.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time.
- Skills to operate common office equipment.
