Job Title: Facility Assistant / Artisan
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary
- The Facility Assistant is responsible for supporting the efficient operation and maintenance of the facility.
- This role involves performing routine inspections, minor repairs, cleaning tasks, and coordinating with external vendors to ensure the facility remains safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- The Facility Assistant will work closely with the Facility Manager to address any issues promptly and help maintain a comfortable and functional environment for all facility users.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs:
- Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Perform minor repairs, such as fixing leaks, changing light bulbs, and repairing doors or windows.
- Assist in the upkeep of HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems as required.
- Report major maintenance issues to the Facility Manager and coordinate with external vendors for repairs.
Cleaning & Housekeeping:
- Ensure all common areas, restrooms, and workspaces are clean and well-maintained.
- Restock supplies in restrooms and break rooms as needed.
- Oversee the waste management process, including the disposal of trash and recycling.
Safety & Security:
- Monitor the facility to ensure that safety protocols are followed, including emergency exits, fire extinguishers, and security systems.
- Address any safety hazards immediately and report them to the Facility Manager.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures, such as access control systems and surveillance.
Inventory & Supplies:
- Manage inventory levels of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Order new supplies as needed and maintain organized storage areas.
- Track and document the use of materials and equipment.
Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance tasks.
- Communicate with facility users and staff to address concerns or requests.
- Provide support during facility events, including setup and teardown.
Administrative Support:
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Assist the Facility Manager with administrative tasks, such as scheduling maintenance and updating facility logs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in facility management is a plus.
- Proven experience in facility management, maintenance, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repair skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
- The role may require working in various indoor and outdoor environments.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on the facility’s needs.
- The position may involve lifting and moving heavy objects
Salary
N50,000 – N70,000 Monthly.
