Further Mathematics Teacher

Responsibilities: 

• Prepare and guide students to excel in international mathematics competitions.
  
• Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs and abilities of students, incorporating a variety of teaching methods and resources.
• Design and administer assessments, quizzes, and examinations to evaluate student progress. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
• Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment, fostering a space conducive to learning and intellectual development.
• Identify students who may need additional support and provide one-on-one tutoring or small group sessions to help them grasp complex mathematical concepts.
• Create and utilize teaching materials, including worksheets, presentations, and other resources, to enhance the learning experience.
• Track and report on student progress, keeping detailed records of performance and identifying areas for improvement.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child’s progress, providing updates and addressing any concerns.
• Stay current with the latest developments in Further Mathematics education, including attending workshops, seminars, and pursuing ongoing learning opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to develop and enhance the mathematics curriculum and participate in school events and activities.
• Lead or participate in mathematics-related extracurricular activities, such as math clubs, competitions, or study groups.
• Act as a mentor to students, encouraging their interest in mathematics and helping them achieve their academic goals.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective Further Mathematics lessons to senior classes, ensuring alignment with the curriculum and educational standards.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field. A teaching qualification is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Further Mathematics at the senior level.
• Applicants must have experience in WAEC coordination and marking. Being a WAEC/NECO CEs, EGs, LLs is an added advantage.
• Applicants must provide evidence of training and teaching IGCSE/SAT/GED/TOEFL
• Applicants must have affiliations with the relevant mathematics association; National or/ International.
• Applicants must demonstrate excellent Interpersonal skills
• Applicants must demonstrate ability to work as a team member 
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Further Mathematics concepts, including advanced topics such as calculus, algebra, and trigonometry.
• Proven ability to teach complex mathematical concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly to students of varying abilities.
• Effective classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive learning environment and maintain discipline.
• Experience in creating and grading assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and address the needs of diverse learners.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the development of the school’s mathematics program.
• A genuine passion for mathematics and education, with a commitment to helping students succeed.
• Strong organizational skills, punctuality, and a commitment to professional growth and development.
