We are a leading independent upstream Oil & Gas Company in Nigeria with active operatorship of prolific blocks. Based on our current expansion and development programs, we are seeking to engage experienced, intelligent and resourceful candidates in the capacity below:

Job Title: Exploration Geoscientist

Location: Nigeria

Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate will be part of a dynamic and an integrated team working to identify, characterise, and safely produce new reserves of commercially viable hydrocarbons.
  • The candidate for this position must have good hands-on experience in Seismic Interpretation and Petro Physical knowledge with an E&P Company.
  • Integration of logs & production data, seismic data, static & dynamic models to identify bypass pay, upside potential, work over and drilling candidates.
  • Responsible for conducting surveys and mapping areas as well as advising Company on appropriate sites for exploration and extraction and producing reports on findings

  • Provide key technical input and guidance for geoscience team during exploration, appraisal and development of assets to maximize resource potential
  • Preparing technical reports about geological findings and their implications for future exploration activities
  • Preparing maps of mineral deposits using computer software programs such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) or CAD (Computer-Aided Design)
  • Deliver geological and geophysical elements of appraisal & field development projects including exploration, appraisal and development wells.
  • Creating and updating an existing reservoir model, which are well scoped and can deliver long term development scenarios.
  • Prospect, evaluate and mature new candidate(s)
  • Collaborate with integrated teams and with colleagues from other geoscience discipline (Geophysics, Production Geoscience, and Specialist Geoscience), well Engineering and Petroleum Engineering.
  • Provide expertise related to field development plan, reserves assessment, asset acquisition, exploration, appraisal and development strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Petroleum Engineering or any Engineering degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper division. A master’s degree or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of Petroleum Engineering experience with in-depth understanding of geologic formation and rock types making up the reservoirs, well engineering and rig operations
  • Must have experience in field development planning and well/project economic evaluation
  • Competency in the use of reservoir engineering software (eg Eclipse, EMBAL etc) and Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, power point etc
  • Must be a good team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work under pressure, ready to travel at short notice and be willing to relocate if necessary.
