Job Title: Early Childhood Educator
Location: Akure, Ondo
Employment Type: Full Time
Job Description
- We seek a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team, responsible for providing high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5.
- The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the EYFS curriculum, Jolly Phonics, Nelson Handwriting, and Montessori style, as well as experience in engaging young learners in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Planning and Implementation:
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with EYFS, Jolly Phonics, and Nelson Handwriting
- Incorporate Montessori principles to foster independent learning and exploration
- Integrate other learning areas, such as:
- Mathematics and numeracy
- Science and exploration
- Literacy and Reading
- Art and creativity
- Physical movement and rhymes
- Social-emotional learning.
Child-Centered Care:
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Support children’s physical, emotional, and social development.
Classroom Management:
- Create a well-organized and engaging classroom environment
- Manage classroom resources and materials
- Supervise and support children during activities and play.
Assessment and Progress Tracking:
- Observe and assess children’s progress, identifying areas for support and development
- Maintain accurate records and reports on children’s progress.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and center management
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development.
Qualifications
- Degree / Diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field with 2 – 5 years experience.
- Knowledge of EYFS curriculum, Jolly Phonics, Nelson Handwriting, and Montessori style
- Experience working with children aged 0-5
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications:
- NCE with TRCN, B.Ed ECE, PGDECE
- Montessori certification or training
- Experience with special needs or inclusive education
- Bilingual or multilingual skills.
