Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

Location: Akure, Ondo
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Description

  • We seek a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team, responsible for providing high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5.
  • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the EYFS curriculum, Jolly Phonics, Nelson Handwriting, and Montessori style, as well as experience in engaging young learners in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Planning and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with EYFS, Jolly Phonics, and Nelson Handwriting
  • Incorporate Montessori principles to foster independent learning and exploration
  • Integrate other learning areas, such as:
    • Mathematics and numeracy
    • Science and exploration
    • Literacy and Reading
    • Art and creativity
    • Physical movement and rhymes
    • Social-emotional learning.

Child-Centered Care:

  • Provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Support children’s physical, emotional, and social development.

Classroom Management:

  • Create a well-organized and engaging classroom environment
  • Manage classroom resources and materials
  • Supervise and support children during activities and play.

Assessment and Progress Tracking:

  • Observe and assess children’s progress, identifying areas for support and development
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on children’s progress.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and center management
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Degree / Diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field with 2 – 5 years experience.
  • Knowledge of EYFS curriculum, Jolly Phonics, Nelson Handwriting, and Montessori style
  • Experience working with children aged 0-5
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NCE with TRCN, B.Ed ECE, PGDECE
  • Montessori certification or training
  • Experience with special needs or inclusive education
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.
